At Woodend Bowling, you’ll find much more than a well-maintained bowling green. You’ll discover a sociable club environment, a comfortable and informal atmosphere, and a place where new members quickly feel at home. Whether you’re completely new to bowls, returning after a break, or an experienced player looking for a supportive club, Woodend offers the right place to enjoy the game at your own pace. We are situated at the heart of the local community in Jordanhill, and welcome members from many other neighbourhoods.

Woodend is a club built on friendship – bowls is about enjoyment as much as competition. Our members value an easy-going atmosphere, informal bowling sessions, encouragement for new players, and a lively social side alongside the sport.

Once you join, there’s no need to book, just come and play at a time and at a level that suits you:

Monday/Wednesday/Friday 2:00 – 4:00 PM: Informal bounce games to help you improve and socialise in a relaxed atmosphere.
Monday 7:00 – 9:00 PM: Social bowls with teams drawn randomly, providing the perfect opportunity to get to know the other members. Followed by social at 9:00 PM onwards.
Saturday 2:00 PM: Club competitions for all members who wish to participate.

For those with more experience or a more competitive spirit, we offer the opportunity to participate in competitions with other bowling clubs:

North Western Bowling League.
Singles/pairs/triples – Glasgow Bowling Association.
Singles/pairs/triples – Bowls Scotland competitions.
